In hopes of connecting with past generations, Wilson’s softball team has reverted to somewhat outdated ways. 

As seen in the 1992 sports comedy film, A League of Their Own starring Geena Davis, Madonna, and Tom Hanks the all-female baseball team endures the hardships and gender discrimination of the baseball industry. Through it all, the team wears skirts to play. A strong representation of just how feminine and ladylike they can be while also playing against the men of baseball. 

Currently, Wilson’s softball team wears their jerseys with softball pants and socks. This uniform was implemented in the early 1980s to contribute to the player’s best athletic performance, getting down and dirty. Now that times are evolving, some members of the fastpitch softball community want to express their femininity and revert to old-school skirts and dresses. 

Wilson Softball’s new uniform will be a bright gold dress with cardinal pinstripes and “Bruins” written in cursive across the front.
