The pasta club is a recently student created and operated club that is fully hands on. It is a place for students to combine their love for food and cooking while in a school setting. The club meets every other Friday in room 411 with a new pasta dish to make and enjoy.
The environment is meant to be a safe space for all the Wilson students on campus regardless of their outside interests. The board of the club brings in her own personal ingredients such as different pastas, dressings, meats, pans and pots for students to use. Cooking the food gives many students the feeling of independence and teaches them simple dishes to make at home.
Kayla Nichols, a junior in the Visual Arts Pathway as well as the creator of the Pasta club stated “I believe this club is important for us to have on campus because it teaches students to build bonds over new experiences.”
Rayven Smith, a senior in LPS “ We get to eat our own creations after putting work into them while teaching people new recipes,” stated.
Aniah Smith, also a senior in the LPS pathway stated “I enjoy this club because it gives me a chance to hang out with my friends while bonding.”
“It shows an open community that’s inviting to everyone and all together teaches people how to cook.” Maurice White, a junior in the Tech pathway shared.
Pasta club brings something creative to our WIlson campus by giving students a chance to truly engage themselves into their activity. Creating a sense of community and accomplishment are some of the many aspects that this club brings to the table here at our school.
