Long Beach, CA- On December 2nd, Belmont Shore hosted their 32nd annual Christmas Parade, where they “emphasized the coastal cultures and community spirit of Belmont Shore”, said through their instagram account. There were over 100 performers, with hundreds of people lined across the sidewalks to watch.
Local businesses and organizations joined in the festivities. Without their sponsor and creative input the parade would not be possible. Some floats distributed candies and treats to the crowd, while others showcased their commitment to community service and holiday cheer. The sense of unity echoed as cheers filled the streets, making the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade a heartwarming celebration for all.
Wilson High School’s marching band, color guard, Bruinettes and cheer were also part of this special night. When Liam O’Shea, Biomed pathway senior, was asked about his favorite part of the parade, he said, “Being able to brighten up the parade by hearing people on the sidelines interacting with our songs.”
After delivering a breathtaking sound of Christmas carols, they created a magical moment for many to remember. Jaquelin Villegas, a junior in the Biomed pathway and member of color guard said,” I was really happy to be a part of it, especially because I grew up my entire life watching this Christmas parade.” Many locals who grew up around the area have always dreamed of being a part of this parade, and for her, her dreams came true.
The 32nd Annual Christmas Parade not only showed the holiday season but also brought the community together in a celebration of love, joy, and the magic of Christmas. The memories created that night would linger in the hearts of the residents, becoming a cherished part of their holiday traditions for years to come.
